In December, 2010, Cal Poly Marine Biology Professor Mark Moline and Senior Marine Science Researcher Ian Robbins took Cal Poly's remote Autonomous Underwater Vehicles to Antarctica to aid in research there.

The professors are blogging from Antarctica until they return to campus in mid-February.
